Transform your leftover turkey into a comforting and flavorful soup with tender dumplings. This slow cooker recipe makes the most out of your ingredients with minimal effort.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups shredded leftover turkey
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions:
Put chicken broth, diced onion, sliced carrots, sliced celery, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and dried thyme and rosemary in a slow cooker
Add the turkey shreds
Put the lid on top and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours, until the vegetables are soft
Put all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and mix them together
To make a dough, add the milk and melted butter and mix them together
Put small amounts of dough into the slow cooker
Put the lid on top and cook on high for another 30 minutes, or until the dumplings are fully cooked
